Good Shout Studio offers bespoke communications consultancy

We’re focused on spreading positive ideas in unique and creative ways to enable those working towards a better, more sustainable, future to be heard. We do this by working with the best in the arts, digital media, writing and film to develop campaigns and present ideas in the most compelling way possible.

We started Good Shout Studio because we want to support those working towards a better future. But great new ideas need great new kinds of communication.

MEDIA TRAINING: We offer training in both print and broadcast media relations, supporting spokespeople in becoming confident, high impact and articulate with journalists.

WRITING & EDITING: Effective writing is central to good communications and much of our work with clients. From articles to blogs, press releases and web copy – we know how to cut to what really matters.

SOCIAL MEDIA & INFOGRAPHIC PRODUCTION: In a digital age, visual storytelling is a crucial element to any communications campaign. We work with you to ensure your integrated visual and written content really gets your message across on the right channel, to the right audience.

Good Shout Studio worked with Abundance for a number of years, the UK’s leading ethical investment platform, to develop hard hitting, integrated communications campaigns.

Charlotte Webster was Public Relations Manager at Solarcentury from 2006 to 2012.

With only 300 solar photovoltaic systems in the UK in 2006, she built and executed B2B and B2C communications strategies to drive awareness of solar power.  Charlotte led media relations, creative campaigns, cross company brand development, content development, partnerships and messaging.

Together with Oliver Sylvester-Bradley, then Marketing Manager and Tim Godwin, Graphic Design, she helped launch Solarcentury, Britain’s fastest growing energy company, into European markets helping drive international sales growth.

By the time she left there were nearly 400,000 solar photovoltaic systems in the UK. And journalists no longer said ‘solar, does that work?’.

Good Shout Studio worked with battery technology innovation company Dukosi to re-develop their website and refine their core story for use across communication platforms.

We also developed graphic assets to convey and reinforce the disruptive nature and potential scale of their technology to an industry audience.

The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) is the world’s biggest trade association for renewable energy. Charlotte Webster joined a select group of renewable energy communications leaders at their HQ in Abu Dhabi to share her experiences, in particular campaigning for a feed-in tariff in the UK with We Support Solar and Solarcentury.



Good Shout Studio has provided design and communication services to the IP Group Cleantech Team, an investment group with a long term partnership structure with leading universities.

Is your current account with one of the big five banks: Lloyds, Barclays, HSBC, RBS/NatWest or Santander? If so, you are helping to support the more than £66bn they have lent to companies around the world engaged in oil and gas extraction. But individuals- who are concerned about climate change can move their money to banks and financial institutions that offer fossil-free alternatives.

The scale of support provided by mainstream banks across the world for the coal, oil and gas industry is breathtaking – and it is British banks that are among the biggest lenders. An analysis of Europe’s 20 largest banks in 2014 found that Barclays had the highest volume of “high carbon” loans, as a proportion of its total lending, of any of the banks, while Lloyds had the highest amount invested in high-carbon equities.

Lightsource Renewable Energy is the UK’s largest solar power company. Seen a solar farm in the UK? It’s probably developed by Lightsource. We have worked with Lightsource to offer strategic communications advice and media training.

We founded the UK’s first dedicated environmental art platform, Human Nature.

Human Nature works connects artists with organisations to put environmental art in unusual spaces. A growing collective of 20 artists, it launched as a pop up show in London in October 2014, it travelled to Leeds, Bristol and back to London for Design Week in Soho in 2015. We’ve also produced five street art initiatives including The Art of Beeing and ENDANGERED13 with Louis Masai.  Featured by The Guardian, BBC, Fox News, National Geographic and others; supporters include EcoAlf, Synchronicity Earth, Abundance, Ashden and Defenders of Wildlife.

Charlotte Webster

Charlotte has 14 years experience in sustainable business communications, marketing and branding. She began her career shaping the communications for what’s now one of the world’s most respected solar energy companies, Solarcentury, and in 2006 co-launched SolarAid, the non-profit leading electricity access in the developing world. On the ​communications team of green consumer ​finance innovators Abundance Investment, she ​has also been a financial reform commentator with Move Your Money and a communications lead at international environmental non-profit CDP.

Charlotte also has a passion for art and design. In 2014, with the support of Ashden and Abundance, she founded ‘Human Nature’ the international envrionmental art organisation, increasing the visibility of contemporary artists exploring our connection to nature across the world with exhibitions during London Design Week and street art tours including The Art of Beeing USA in 2016. Joining international green brands, non-profits, philanthropists and artists, Human Nature has been featured by The Guardian, BBC News, Vice, Fox News, National Geographic, The Art Conference and Wellcome Trust. Charlotte has also appeared on Sky News, Channel 4 News, in the Independent and The Times and has guest lectured in art, design and environmental communications at The University of Sheffield and The University of Thassoliniki in Greece. She holds a BSc. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Bristol and has trained in PR, journalism and documentary production.

Tim Godwin

Tim has been working in communication and design for sustainable and renewable businesses and organisations for over 10 years.

He’s provided branding design, consulted on web development and UX, and developed innovative digital content, enabling businesses to develop and structure their communications to achieve much better results. Sustainable sourcing of print and other materials to the highest standard is a important part of his work, along with ensuring the best possible results are achieved from a set budget.
